Watford head coach Walter Mazzarri has told his players to recreate their performance on Tuesday night in a memorable 2-1 win at Arsenal when Burnley visit Vicarage Road tomorrow.

The last time Mazzarri's side played the Clarets, it came on the back of a 3-1 home win over Manchester United - but the Hornets never turned up in Lancashire, and limped to defeat at Turf Moor.

This time, however, the Italian is determined to keep Watford's momentum going following a first league win in eight in midweek.

"Yesterday I said in a team meeting we have to play the same against Burnley as they did Arsenal," he said. "They have to see Burnley as the same as when they play Arsenal or Chelsea.

"When we beat Manchester United at home, as I reminded them, the next game we lost at Burnley – with one of the worst performances of the season. We have to have full confidence.

"I want to see the same intensity and concentration that we had against Arsenal. It’s very important to create unity between the players, fans and whole group – we will need them. I want my players to possess the same spirit."

Burnley come into the game without an away win all season - and, in fact, only a single point on the road to their name since they were promoted to the top flight last summer.

However, Sean Dyche's team were themselves only narrowly beaten at Arsenal in their last game away from Turf Moor, thanks to a last-minute Alexis Sanchez penalty.

And Mazzarri is not tempted to take tomorrow's opponents lightly as Watford seek back-to-back wins for the first time since September.

"I don’t trust the statistics," he said. "When I’ve seen Burnley play, both home and away, they have played very well. We will have to be careful against them.

"I don’t think Burnley will come to Vicarage Road to defend, they have very quick strikers and great quality in midfield. Given the position they are in the Premier League, it will be a very tough game. I respect a team like them very much."
