Watford defender Juanfran has confirmed he would like to remain at Deportivo La Coruna beyond the completion of his season-long loan.

The 28-year-old is yet to make a single appearance for the Hornets, despite signing from Real Betis for £1.5m in 2014.

He is currently in his third loan spell with the Spanish outfit and appears to have no intention of returning to Vicarage Road next season.

Speaking to La Voz de Galicia he said: “I am where I want to be. In the place which I’ve fought, and I want to stay.

“What should happen is that when we discuss me staying, we’ll sit down, get rid of this €8m clause and then interest, rumours and offers will go away.”

The Spaniard’s desire to move away from Watford is understandable, considering the fact he appears no closer to first team plans than he did when joining three-years ago.

For this reason, Juanfran argues, the greater game time and support given to him by Depor far outweighs the financial reward on offer in the Premier League.

He said: “It’s true that I lost a lot money moving here. In the Premier League, there is a lot, and here, not that much. But it’s not all that matters.

“Watford gave me a lot of money, but very little to help my life. Deportivo gave me far less money, but other things I value more. The balance is in favour of Deportivo.”
