Towering defender and Watford target Andrea Ranocchia is weighing up his options and considering a move to England, the Watford Observer understands.

The 29-year-old defender was at Hull City last season under now Hornets boss Marco Silva, and has no future at parent club Inter Milan.

A former captain at the San Siro, Ranocchia was brought to Inter by ex-Watford head coach Walter Mazzarri, but his career has floundered and he has been loaned out three times.

Sources close to Ranocchia would not be drawn on Watford specifically, but hinted that England could be the Italian international's destination by the end of the transfer window.
