Lee Probert will take charge of Watford’s Premier League visit to Southampton on Saturday.

It will be the first Premier League game Probert has taken charge of this season, with his other two outings coming in League One and the Championship respectively.

The Gloucester-born official had a busy first game of the season as he brandished two deserving red cards in Portsmouth’s 2-0 win over Rochdale.

It will be the first time he has taken charge of a Watford game since the 1-0 win over Sunderland at Vicarage Road in April, which saw him show four yellow cards.

That match served as his first top flight game after recovering from a long-term injury which saw him miss the entirety of the 2015/16 season.

Probert was relatively quick to reach for his cards in the 2016/17 campaign, issuing 72 yellow and four red cards in 31 games.
