Watford look set to be without both Sebastian Prodl and Younes Kaboul for their trip to Swansea, despite the club providing positive injury updates on the pair.

While Prodl, who signed a four-year contract extension yesterday, is progressing quicker than expected he has only just began on-field training.

"He is now at the introductory stage of field rehabilitation and being monitored closely and will move from field rehabilitation to re-integrating with the team in the near future," performance director Gavin Benjafield told the club website.

Fellow centre-back Kaboul has been out with a hamstring injury since the win at Southampton and will be out for some time.

"Younès has now had his follow-up ultrasound scan with a specialist that has determined that surgery is not required for his rehabilitation," confirmed Benjafield.

"His rehab work, which will be extensive, has already begun with us at the training ground."
