Roberto Pereyra's injury disappointment has come back to haunt the Argentine - and he is set to be ruled him out of Saturday's home game with Stoke City.

The winger, who has only recently returned from more than half a year out with a knee problem, was injured in the second half of Saturday's 4-2 defeat at Chelsea.

And sources have now confirmed he is almost certain to miss their next Premier League game with Stoke this weekend, although his injury is not believed to be serious and is still being fully assessed.

The winger showed just how relieved he was to be back out on the pitch as he celebrated with Watford's medical staff after putting the Hornets in front, only for a cruel twist of fate to put him back on the sidelines within 15 minutes.

Pereyra was substituted after winning a corner and landing awkwardly at Stamford Bridge after 65 minutes on Saturday, but was fit enough to walk off the pitch.

It was his third start of the season, following on from last weekend's 2-1 win over Arsenal, and the opening-day draw with Liverpool - during which he was also injured and ruled out for more than a month.
