Fresh from witnessing the birth of his first children, Andre Carrillo can spend his sleepless nights dreaming of a World Cup place in Russia next summer on the back of a sensational qualifying campaign from history-makers Peru.

The South Americans will be included in next month's draw for the World Cup finals for the first time in 36 years after finishing fifth in the CONMEBOL standings, and then beating New Zealand 2-0 on aggregate in a two-legged play-off which concluded in the early hours of this morning.

Carrillo was a second-half substitute in the decisive leg in Lima, where Jefferson Farfan and Christian Ramos' goals left the capital partying late into the night.

The 26-year-old faces a race against time to make the Watford squad to face West Ham on Sunday at Vicarage Road, with precious little time to get over any jetlag.

But he will at least have the chance to see his two baby twins - who were born in London at the request of the player and his girlfriend.

He told Peruvian outlet Telecinco: "I saw the birth, they were born just when I was going to prepare with the team.

"They told me it was going to be a cesarean, so I could see them. They are a girl and a boy, but the names we still have a couple of weeks to decide."
