Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure has entered the top 10 in the Premier League for completed passes this season, highlighting just how good a season the 24-year-old has had.

On a weekend where Fernandinho became the first player in the league to surpass the 1,000 completed passes mark, Doucoure had another fine game in midfield for the Hornets during their 3-0 win at Newcastle.

In addition to scoring four times already this campaign, Doucoure has been arguably Watford's best player - although Richarlison and Christian Kabasele might have something to say about it - barely a year after he almost left Vicarage Road before he'd even made his debut.

His inclusion in the list shows just how much of an influential player the Frenchman has become in Marco Silva's team, and his excellent close control helps the Hornets transition defence into attack efficiently.

Opta have classed 17 of his passes classed as 'key', defined as "the final pass or pass-cum-shot leading to the recipient of the ball having an attempt at goal without scoring".

Doucoure is the only player outside of last season's top five to make the list.
