Watford are set to battle it out with Bournemouth to sign Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor during the summer transfer window, according to reports.
The 24-year-old is rated at £10 million and has enjoyed a productive season in helping Celtic win their seventh Scottish league title in a row.
McGregor’s versatility could appeal to Watford and he can play as either a central midfielder or in a wide role.
He has scored 11 goals in 52 outings for Celtic this season and earned his first senior call up for Scotland in 2017.
With Abdoulaye Doucoure looking likely to depart Watford in the summer, the Vicarage Road club are expected to be on the lookout for midfield reinforcements.
McGregor’s time with Celtic has been hugely rewarding and he has won four league titles, two Scottish League Cups and a Scottish Cup.
A loan spell with Notts County saw McGregor play 41 times and score 14 times during the 2013/14 season.
