Will Hughes says Watford will give it their all at Old Trafford and look to end the season with a victory against Manchester United.
Sunday’s clash signals the close on Watford’s campaign and the Hornets travel north safe in the knowledge their Premier League status is secure.
The win, Hughes accepts, takes some of the pressure off Javi Gracia’s men and the midfielder says Watford will leave nothing behind at the Theatre of Dreams.
“In a way yeah [the pressure will be off], but we’re still going there full throttle to try and win the game,” Hughes said.
“We’re not putting down our tools yet. It is still a big game for us which we want to win.”
Hughes’ campaign has been a stop start one which commenced slowly before being interrupted by injury and eventually taking flight late in the term.
He has impressed since returning from a hamstring injury suffered in November and is now an integral part of Watford’s starting XI.
The 23-year-old reflects on the season as a frustrating one, but says he will hope to push on and play more games next season.
“I’ve enjoyed the season and have learned a lot on and off the pitch. It will stand me in good stead for next season hopefully,” he said.
“I’ve had to work hard to get into the team, but thankfully I’ve managed to play a decent amount of games to build upon for next season.
“I just want to try and get a few more games under my belt and become more consistent.”
