Manchester United are considering making a gesture of support for Sir Alex Ferguson during their Premier League meeting with Watford on Sunday.

Ferguson, who won 38 trophies during his 26-and-a-half-year Old Trafford reign, underwent an operation on Saturday after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

United have since confirmed the 76-year-old is no longer in intensive care and is continuing his recovery at Salford Royal Hospital.

Ferguson’s improving condition has added to the possibility United will make a show of support for their greatest ever manager.

United won 13 premier Leagues, five FA Cups, four League Cups and a pair of Champions League titles during Ferguson’s tenure.

News of the Scot’s ill health has been greeted with a host of well-wishers coming forward from the wider footballing community.

While Ferguson’s condition is improving, United have once again urged the importance of both his and his family’s privacy being respected as he continues to recover.
