Watford will hold further talks with Everton later this month as they look to reach a conclusion to their long-running dispute over Marco Silva.
The Hornets made an official complaint to the Premier League accusing the Toffees of tapping up their then head coach in November.
They are still seeking a compensation package from Everton after Silva was appointed manager at Goodison Park on Thursday.
The Premier League is understood to have scheduled a second mediation meeting between the two clubs for later this month as they look to reach an amiable conclusion to the dispute.
Such an outcome looks unlikely, though, as both sides refuse to move from their current stance and the league could well have to hold an arbitration meeting to settle the matter.
Watford believe the appointment of Silva as the Toffees new boss adds weight to their argument an illegal approach was made in the autumn, but Everton are insistent they acted appropriately.
Silva’s refusal to pin his colours to the Watford mast when Everton made their initial approach was named as the key reason behind the Hornets decision to sack the 40-year-old.
They claimed Everton’s attempts to lure Silva away from Vicarage Road, which included a £9 million compensation offer, directly impacted his focus and results.
While Watford are yet to outline how much they are demanding in payment from Everton, a figure in the region of that November offer would be likely.
