Roberto Pereyra has been linked with a transfer to Torino in a move which would see him join up with former Watford boss Walter Mazzarri.

The Italian coach brought Pereyra to Watford in the summer of 2016, but got precious little use from the 27-year-old who struggled with injury in Mazzarri’s sole season at Vicarage Road.

Pereyra once again found fitness hard to come by last term, but finished the campaign in strong fashion to become a key member of Javi Gracia’s side.

He scored five goals in 34 outings in the 2017/18 campaign, including three in the final six games of the season.

Pereyra’s ties to Turin where he previously played for Juventus adds to Torino’s belief they can convince him to return to Serie A.

Torino are said to have approached Watford about a potential transfer, but will be hard pressed to prize the Argentine midfielder away from WD18.
