It’s a case of as you were for Watford as Brendan Rodgers names an unchanged team for this afternoon’s sold out clash with Barnsley at Vicarage Road.
The only change to the Hornets’ matchday 16 from the 2-2 draw with Southampton is on the bench, with Jon Harley returning at the expense of Gavin Hoyte.
Unlike their opponents, who have lost just two of their last 11 league games, Barnsley come into the match with just one win from seven, and boss Simon Davey makes just the one change from the side that lost 2-1 at Sheffield United in mid-week.
That is in midfield, with Daniel Bogdanovic coming in for Huge Colace, who is on the bench.
Although a win is all but certain to see Watford secure their Championship status, they will not be mathematically safe just yet.
The simplest equation is that if the Hornets pick up three points, but Nottingham Forest lose at home to Bristol City, Rodgers’ troops will be 12 points clear of the final relegation spot with four games to play. Furthermore, the Hornets will also have a goal difference of at least 17 superior to Billy Davies’ men.
Watford: Loach; Mariappa, DeMerit, M Williamson, Doyley; McAnuff, Jenkins, Cork, Cauna; Smith; Priskin. Substitutes: Harley; Lee, Hoskins, Rose, Stepanov.
Barnsley: Muller; Hassell, Moore, Foster, Kozluk; Andranik, De Silva, Bogdanovic, Campbell-Ryce; Macken, Mifsud. Substitutes: Hammill, Odejayi, Colace, Souza Guedes, Devaney.
