Watford striker Theo Robinson has completed his move to Huddersfield Town - and not their League One rivals Swindon Town as anticipated.

The Watford striker was expected to move to the County Ground after returning from holiday for a fee that could have risen to £275,000, but a late change of heart saw him instead opt to sign a three-year deal for the Yorkshire club.

Although the fee is undisclosed, it is thought to be for around the same amount as the Hornets had agreed with Swindon.

Earlier last week, angry Robins chairman Andrew Fitton told the Swindon Advertiser: “I don’t think it [the Robinson deal] is going to happen now. We seem to have hit a problem which we are very upset about.

“We agreed a deal with the club and player but there are shenanigans going on that we have warned certain people about. This is a classic example of agents and greed.”
