Watford can secure their place in the Championship with a win at Queens Park Rangers but they will have to try and do so without captain Jay DeMerit and Scotland international Don Cowie.

USA defender DeMerit misses tonight's match with a muscle problem in the abdominal region and Cowie has a calf strain.

This means Martin Taylor returns at centre back alongside Dale Bennett and Stephen McGinn will replace his fellow Scot on the right of midfield.

Heidar Helguson is ineligible to play against his parent club so Henri Lansbury will once again start off Danny Graham up front.

Lloyd Doyley is on the bench after missing the last two matches with a hamstring problem.

There were reports QPR were going to field a number of youngsters after securing their place in the Championship but Neil Warnock has made just two changes.

Former Hornet Tamas Priskin and on loan Arsenal striker Jay Simpson have both been dropped and Antonio German and Rowan Vine start up top.

QPR: Cerny; Ramage, Gorkss, Leigertwood, Tosic; Ephraim, Faurlin, Buzsaky, Taarabt; Vine, German.

Subs: Putnins, Oastler, Cook, Parker, Brown, Priskin, Simpson.

Watford: Loach; Mariappa, Taylor, Bennett, Hodson; McGinn, Jenkins, Eustace, Harley; Lansbury, Graham.

Subs: Lee, Doyley, Oshodi, Bryan, Hoskins, Henderson, Sordell.

What a crap team picked by a crap manager. Just one up front and Hoskins again on the bench whilst noble returns to Sunderland. Unforgiveable, we deserve nothing less than relegation under this shambles and a joke of a manager.

Mackay, you are a disgrace and so it your **** team!!!!

I have now come to the view that if the club can aford it, for Malky to go at the end of the Season no matter what division we end up in.
Football is a results business and we are just not good enough.
There must be something psychological that despite the number of chances we have we seem to can't score and win away from home.
While GT doesn't want to interfere with the playing side which I would agree if the Manager was proven, but MM isn't. Does the board go to the training ground and assess him and his team and give him advice even if it is unpalatable?
We just hope that over the weekend Wednesday loose to Cardiff on Sat and Palace loose to Westbrom on Monday. Or we can get a victory which is most unlikely.
Very sad times indeed being a Watford fan.
The responsibility lays with the current and previous board while trying to cut costs and using Watford as play thing between Shareholders as the loss of form seems to have stem from when the threat of Admin was a likelihood.
What is the club trying to do to get additional resource other than keep the club afloat from the Rights issue?
It is wrong to say it doesn't affect the playing side. Of course it does as it is human nature to look over your shoulder.
If we go down is this likely to rear its head again? As the outgoings are likely to be even more than the income if we get a Season ticket holder base of 6-7000 in League 1?.
What concerns me is the lack of communication by GT who has been renound for having the fans at heart.
Where are we going Watford? Unless there is a clear direction rather than a muddled one at present........ I can only see one way and that is not up.

TBH Having DeMerit and Cowie in the side would have not made much difference.

I think the main "trouble" is the club cannot afford to sack the management and make whole sale changes to the squad all at once.

Fear we will go into administration so even losing some of the half decent young players we have.

When a manager is pinning his hopes on young lads you know there is a problem.
