Watford will not be signing Everton duo Moses Barnett and John Nolan.
Barnett, a 19-year-old full back, and Nolan, a 17-year-old midfielder, are expected to be released by the Premier League club in the summer and have been on trial with the Hornets for the past week.
The pair have played in Watford Reserves last two matches in a bid to earn a contract with the Hertfordshire club but manager Malky Mackay last night confirmed the pair will not be joining the club.
Mackay said: “The Everton lad [Nolan] has tweaked his knee and has gone back up to Everton so neither of them will be [signing].”
