Gavin Massey helped Watford Reserves come back from 4-1 down to draw with Northampton Town in their final fixture of the season.

The Hornets had already secured the Football Combination East Division title going into the clash at Sixfields but found themselves 4-1 down inside the opening 25 minutes.

However, first-year scholar Massey, who made his first team debut at Coventry City on Sunday, scored a 76th-minute equaliser to salvage a point for Watford.

Jure Travner, Lewis Young, Eddie Oshodi and Matthew Whichelow were the most recognisable names in the Reserves line-up as the first team players had meetings with manager Malky Mackay today.

Northampton opened the scoring inside the first two minutes through a smart finish from Josh Urquhart but Massey bundled home an equaliser soon after.

Three goals in ten minutes from Gary Mulligan, Courtney Herbert and Michael Jacobs put the home side in complete control and the result seemed a formality.

Urquhart had given his side the lead but he handed Watford a lifeline ten minutes before half time by bringing down trialist Michael Kalu in the box and Lewis Young stepped up to convert the spot kick.

The younger brother of England international Ashley Young then outpaced the Cobblers' defence to make it 4-3 going into half time and Massey completed the fightback with less than 15 minutes remaining.
