Watford forward Matty Whichelow has returned from his loan spell at Exeter City.
Whichelow’s one-month loan expired this week and the forward will now rejoin the Hornets as he hopes to earn a place in the squad for this weekend’s game with Crystal Palace.
The 20-year-old was a regular in the first team squad last season, making five starts and 16 substitute appearances, but has been limited to just eight minutes away to Coventry City during this campaign.
Whichelow had been injured during the summer and we understand it was always planned that his loan spell would last just a month.
The forward made three starts in five possible outings during his time at Exeter, although he missed Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Bury which sent City bottom of League One.
Watford goalkeeper Jonathan Bond has also finished his loan spell at non-league Brackley Town.
