Watford manager Sean Dyche has confirmed centre back Martin Taylor will be out for at least a few weeks due to a collarbone injury.
Taylor came off just before the hour mark against Crystal Palace at the weekend and Dyche has this afternoon confirmed the 31-year-old faces a spell on the sidelines.
Dyche told the club’s website: "Unfortunately we are talking about weeks not days out for Martin, although it is hard to give an exact timescale at the moment.
"He has been a big part of the last few seasons since he joined the club.
"Unfortunately injuries are the reality of football and they can strike at any time. It was a freak one in the way it happened, that's for sure."
Taylor has been a mainstay of the Watford backline since his arrival in January last year, scoring nine goals in 77 starts and two substitute appearances.
