The Pozzo family have released a statement through their Italian club Udinese stressing the takeover of Watford is still not complete.
Watford put out a statement last night confirming the board of directors had agreed "in principle" to sell the club to the Pozzo family.
But Udinese, who are owned by Gianpaolo Pozzo, have this afternoon stated the "deal is not official".
The announcement read: "The Pozzo family, through its communication company, would like to point out that any news or rumours concerning the purchase of Watford Football Club has to be regarded as premature, because, even if there actually is a real interest, the dealing has not been officialised yet."
Udinese's statement comes after Gino Pozzo made a comment to Gazzetta Dello Sport about Gianfranco Zola becoming the manager of Watford. Click here to read more.
