Gianfranco Zola stresses importance of not conceding sloppy goals after dramatic win at Crystal Palace

Watford head coach Gianfranco Zola has stressed the importance of not giving away cheap goals after his side came from 2-1 down with a minute remaining to beat Crystal Palace 3-2.

The Hornets conceded a penalty to hand Palace the lead in the first half and then after Martin Taylor’s equaliser, Almen Abdi’s poor concentration meant Garvan added another before the break.

It looked as though the visitors were going to leave Selhurst Palace empty handed but then Abdi equalised in the 88th minute before fellow Udinese loanee Matej Vydra scored a lovely winner in the dying moments of injury time.

“I think the equaliser was deserved and the difference was the great goal at the end,” Zola said.

“I told the players I was happy with the way we played when we had the ball but I would have liked to have seen more intensity when we didn’t have the ball because we cannot make it that cheap for the opposition.

“At the end of the first half Crystal Palace were winning 2-1 and I do not think they deserved to be but they found two cheap goals from us, with all due respect to them.

“We played well with the ball but in football you need to be able to do both [defending] as well.”

On the two new signings who scored Watford’s late goals, Zola added: “I am delighted for everybody because we worked hard and it was a good victory.

“The two new players are quality players and they showed their quality today.

“Hopefully they will just be the beginning as we have other players [to come in] as well.”

Excellent win against our bogey team.
It'll be interesting to see how we cope with Ambrose on Tuesday - he always gave us problems for Palace and Charlton.

Hiho

I feel one must step in here and Introduce a note of caution and second these sentiments of our new priest.

Father Gorgon has certainly hit the ground running and I think the whole choir school should pay special heed
To the advance leaking of Sunday's sermon.

It seems that his emphasis is on increasing our defensive aplomb ....
a sound topic bearing in mind previous head chorister Adrian has moved on
to sing with a different choir..."..by the way we wish him well.

I am not convinced yet about whether
The back four that started this game is
Our best.....

All in all a very creditable start and one in the eye for disciples of our previous father dean Syche Some of whom demanded their weekly alms donation back ...and got it.

One last think our community affairs
Supremo mr dithers has pointed out that certain of our parishioners ....with Bedfordshire connections do not understand parody....well never mind
D.unstable after all your moniker is itself one and phonetic anagram....done stable. ....I will pray for the light to shine of your cold heart.

Mr dithers is organising a candle mass
On your behalf .....trouble is. The some set of keys. That our previous squire eloped with contained not the key to the offertory box but in addition to mr dithers wife's chastity belt also that of the candle store....so it looks as if certain parishioners will sadly deprived of see the light shone by Fr. Gorgon

Keep the faith

Thank you for your blessed deliberations Lord Bishop
I fear that master Henry with his observations of this journeyman Ambrose may well prove to be a thorn in our side within the coming weekend however this will prove to be a minor hiccup for Father Gorgon
