Watford striker Troy Deeney returns following his release from prison as QPR win 3-1
6:24pm Wednesday 19th September 2012 in Watford FC News
Deeney makes playing return following his release from prison
Troy Deeney played the first match since his release from prison as a Watford XI lost 3-1 to Queens Park Rangers Under-21s this afternoon.
Udinese loanee Steve Leo-Beleck scored for the Hornets as Fitz Hall and Stephen McGinn continued their recovery from injuries.
Deeney impressed during the first half before being substituted and Hall played 55 minutes with McGinn lasting 75.
QPR fielded a strong side, with Samba Diakite, DJ Campbell, Kieron Dyer and Shaun Derry all starting, and Rob Hulse coming on as a substitute.
Rangers took the lead when Campbell scored with the first of his side's two penalties after Michael Doughty was brought down, but the visitors replied before the interval through Beleck.
After the break, QPR took the lead with their second spot kick when Hulse was fouled and youngster Frankie Sutherland sent Jonathan Bond the wrong way.
Moments later Tom Hitchcock head in from close range to secure the victory at QPR's Harlington training ground.
QPR starting XI: Murphy, Sharif, Magri, Brown, Sutherland, Doughty, Dyer, Derry, Andrade, Hitchcock, Campbell.
Watford starting XI: Bond; Hodson, Hall, Hoban, Dickinson; McGinn, Smith, Chalobah; Beleck, Deeney, Forsyth.
Subs: Shnezel, Johnson, O'Nein, Bawling, Dillon, Hope.

Harefield gone!
what next for us. in 2 and half months we lost our respectible football director. gone ! then our corporate director, gone! then manager and all the coaches.gone! our catering staff. gone! Marketing manager.gone!.
these are all the people that made our club a family club. bet no one is worried about the children on a match day without leigh brooks. no face painters,no marching bands, no good causes.
the heart and soul of our family club has been ripped out all in the name of results on the pitch and the premier league.rubbish i say . we are sacrificing jobs and the spirit of our club and the results are not even there. what hapens when the results don't come. what is left then. NOTHING!
all the happy clappers should look at the bigger picture. no one is interested in us anymore. its about money and the premier league. I bet all the prices go up dramtically next year.
sorry about the rant but i feel so so sad :(

it was the russo's and the other billionnaire idiots who nearly put the club in admin. they all had loads of money but didn't want to spend it on us. they did nothing to the stadium , neglected it for years, spent shed loads on vialli and co, bought a crap pub and mismanaged everythig.
if it wasn't for julian winter there would not be a club. Baz stopped the club from going into admin when no one wanted it and sold it for a profit. sounds like good business to me.

Paul , you talk about "sources" and seem to have them "All over the World" , but they are obviously different people to the ones I speak to.
Paul , I know you use the hospitality etc , but it is a concern when we ..the normal fan....have to dish out money ( expensive money) to watch a game and that the catering prices going up , makes a difference. It may not make a difference to a bloke who 's got plenty of money ,like you , but to familys and young kids it does. OK. A couple of weeks ago you moaned about the fact it cost £170 to get you and two kids to Derby etc.
I'm not jumping over hoops just because " the Pozzo's saved the club". ..the club wouldn't have gone under totally ......but like any other takeover , new ownership etc..esp from a different culture there will be changes. That doesn't mean they will be all good. That doesn't mean the two running this club now are good for Watford. There are a lot of people unhappy , including supporters and THEY are entitled to an opinion .Not to be sarcastically put down or abused. Remember there are good people at Watford and they are at meeting trying to steer the new people into doing things the riht way for Watford. I suggest you come to a few more away games ( as you said you're a true supporter and support the tougher games ( ie Bolton away ) instead of swanning off to QPR v Chelsea. At least then you can judge whats happening to the team without resulting in hearsay of"sources". Just remember Mr.Holden , that people know people in the game , including me , and many thngs ( no doubt good and bad) are going on ..but one or two things are happening quietly , which have puzzled people from other clubs and are concerned. The debate on this club shouldn't be either one of total excitement , or of total gloom ,just somewhere in between and see where it goes. Its like school playtime on this page . BTW..childish remarks about certain ex players / managers/ the present so called " inferior" present players is just that childish. The fact is over the last few years EVEYONE has helped to keep this club in the championship ..despite having NO money , no resource..they've worked hard .Without them , we would have gone down and this little POZZO dream team would not have happened. History is important at any club and they are part of it. So respect where it's due. I'm sure as you have an important position at your company , you wouldn't start name slagging childishly at everyone that held your position previously. Anyway , . I expect to see you at Huddersfield perhaps.....or are the Fulham , Arsenal games that day more important. COYH. Good win on Saturday , and at least the on field issues will look better.

Baz stopped the club from going into admin when no one wanted it and sold it for a profit. sounds like good business to me. you lot should wake up and smell the coffee.

I also hear that we might get a new ground within 5 years, 25000 purpose built with ability to extend Pozzo looking into this They thinking long termdid a little digging, the pozzo's took over a club in holland 10 years ago. The Project cos thats what we are, failed and they left the club in disarray. its hard to go back if it fails. if we dont get in the premier league i suspect they will leave. then what. promises and words mean nothing. i have not seen any movement in the south west corner. you are all blind to whats going on. its all cheap PR and you are all lapping it up like idiots
COYH. Good win on Saturday , and at least the on field issues will look better.
every post lately from you Mr Giles has negative undertones
It seems you don't like change :-)
I admire you for travelling to all the away games, it becomes a religion, it is an expensive day out, and time consuming.
I love football, I love Watford (40 years), Wealdstone (on and off 35 years), England (40 years), then quality football of any kind.
I attend at least 4 matches minim a week in person from youth matches to international, plus at least 4 a week on TV ....
So I am a true football fan !
My beloved club was being run into the ground by clown Baz, luckily not now
So do I care if 20p been added to a cup of tea in order that we have players of quality to watch, you don't have to buy it !
Let's embrace change and smile smile smile
