Joe Garner’s loan at Carlisle United has been extended by a further month until November 20.

The Watford striker, who is in his second spell at Brunton Park, has scored one goal in five appearances so far and manager Greg Abbott and the player are pleased his stay has been extended.

“The good thing about this one is that Joe was keen to stay and we were keen to keep him here,” Abbott told Carlisle’s official website.

“He’s already shown us that he can be a real thorn in the side and that he’s difficult to handle. He hasn’t had regular pitch time for a good while and we think he will get better and better as he gets more games under his belt.

“He’s a really hard worker and he has come to us with an excellent attitude and a desire to play the game. Hopefully he’ll continue to improve and, if he does, we think he’ll be doing a real job for us.”

The forward, who has also been given permission to play in United’s FA Cup games, said: “I’m enjoying it here and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to sort this out.

“When we’re on our game we play some really good stuff and it’s fantastic for me to be involved.

“I still don’t feel that I’m at my best yet and hopefully that will come soon. This is a good group of lads and I want to do my bit to help us to push on as much as I can.”

I'm sure any day now he'll start banging in the goals, he just needs some goal posts, a hammer and a new job.

That's an encourging post! He may not of hit it off at Watford, but this is his livelihood and when going through bad patches in your career this is not the sort of thing you want to be reading!

Oh dear Jason! You do have a pop at me times but this is a man that needs a job in football. He may have a family as well. Obviously he is not a player we need and he did not do well for us but at least join others in wishing him the best?

You need a little humility in your life jason. Imagine how he feels reading a post like yours. He's an 'orn until he signs permanently for another club.

Do you have a brain?
A bit of constructive comment or a encouragement for debate would be useful. Its fans like you that are keeping so many away from the Vic.
Just get a life!
