The season is less than three months old but fans around the country are demanding changes to their respective team.

At WD18 the cry from the terraces is for Zola to bring in more attacking options, despite Watford being in better goal scoring form than this time last year.

The feeling coming from the fans is two fold. Firstly, that Troy Deeney is the only out and out striker and if he was to succumb to injury there would be no direct replacement, with the other forwards being of a different mould to the Hornets' number 9.

Secondly the fans are slightly concerned that while Watford have been putting in some immpressive performances, they are struggling to put the ball in the back of the net.

Zola himself seems to suggest that he is aware of the problem upfront after he was quoted saying “ last year we would have been more ruthless in front of goal” after the players missed several opportunities to kill off the game against Huddersfield.

The transfer window shut on September 2nd, however the loan window remains open and GZ could look to bring in another striker if he wishes.

The name Matej Vydra is being whispered as a possible loan replacement as a result of his limited appearances at the Hawthorns.

However, it would appear as though Zola is more interested in finding a replacement for last seasons form midfielder Jonathan Hogg.

It was thought that Iriney had come in to fill this role but it is believed that Zola feels more support is required and it has been speculated that he is looking at the Baggies, George Thorne as the player who could do the job.

If Zola was not to look elsewhere for a striker (which would always prove difficult , considering that every team is on the look-out for a goalscorer and few are willing to part with one) he could decide to look in-house at rookie players Uche Ikpeazu and Bernard Mensah.

Both have been putting away the goals behind closed doors and maybe it is time to start blooding them in to first team games.

Whatever Zola decides will be down to him, but with the loan window closing at the end of November the clock is ticking.
