A St Albans author is hoping to reunite her classmates from the 1960s.

Jeanne Willis reunited with her former teacher from Wheatfields Junior School, St Albans after 47 years, which gave her the idea to bring together her classmates who were also inspired by Miss Stevens.

Ms Willis has tracked down 22 classmates but is still on the hunt for 21 more people to complete the reunion, which she hopes to hold at Wheatfields Schoolhall on a Saturday in October.

She said: “Miss Stevens was the one who encouraged my writing and played a large part in me becoming an author.

“She even kept some of my stories that I wrote in class when I was ten. I now have over 400 titles published worldwide.”

The reunited classmates will also be joined by Miss Stevens, now Jane Waldron, and is looking for anyone who would have joined the juniors in 1966-1967.
