A store welcomed young people with autism to a special tour and workshop ahead of a national campaign.
Pets at Home in Griffiths Way, St Albans, welcomes pupils from Radlett Lodge, a specialist National Autistic Society school, to have a special tour and learn about the animals in the store.
This was a pre-event before they opened the store an hour early on October 8 as part of National Autistic Society's Autism Hour, a national campaign which asks shops and businesses to make their places of business more autism-friendly over the course of a week.
The students had a special tour of the store followed by a workshop where they learned about rabbits and guinea pigs.
David Golder, store manager at Pets at Home St Albans, said: "It was a pleasure to welcome Radlett Lodge into the St Albans store for such an important cause.
"This is a fantastic initiative and one we are extremely pleased to be a part of."
On October 8 the store was made more friendly to those with autism by turning down the lights, music and till bells and training up staff with more information.
