Designer handbags and a Rolex watch were among valuables stolen in burglaries from two houses in the same street.

The burglaries occurred on Oakwood Road in Bricket Wood.

The first break-in took place on December 7 between 6pm and 9pm. A large quantity of Asian gold was stolen after the thief or thieves was able to get into to the house by forcing open a back kitchen window.

Jewellery, designer handbags, and a Rolex watch were stolen from a second house on Wednesday December 20. The incident could have happened any time between 8am and 7.40pm. This time, a patio door was smashed.

Police are linking the two burglaries, and they believe information about a silver Audi car which was seen in the area during both incidents could help with their enquiries.
