EAGLE-EYED motorists gave themselves a laugh when they spotted a string of pensioners queuing outside Watford Colosseum on Friday.
Rumours Dr Dre was performing hip hoperations were unfounded, however, as the unfortunate people were simply standing under a giant banner promoting a music event taking place at the Rickmansworth Road venue later that evening.
It's unknown why the group of pensioners were queuing outside the Colosseum. They might have thought they were being offered the chance to jump the NHS waiting list for a new hip. Or they could have been patiently waiting for the start of the UK Hip Hop Crew Championships, to see some popping, locking and freestyling. But they probably weren't.

Sadly our photographers were unable to snap the image before the pensioners dispersed but a big thank you to the mystery caller who told us about it.
IMAGINE you're offered the chance to meet the newly appointed Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg. The red and blue supporters among you might turn your noses up at such an opportunity but, as journalists, we always look forward to challenging party leaders on local issues.
The aforementioned Mr Clegg made a flying visit to Watford last Thursday, when he met West Herts College Travel and Tourism students inside an aeroplane fuselage. And on this occasion, it was our Bushey reporter, Filip Hnizdo who won the chance to meet the politico in person.
Moments after he dashed from the office to the college's Hempstead Road campus, however, he called the office to enquire about the location of the meeting. It was in fact the Cassio campus, in Langley Road. Filip was in the wrong place and becoming increasingly late.
Had Filip blown his chance to meet a man with ambitions to become this country's next Prime Minister?
No, it turned out, as Mr Clegg also arrived at the wrong location minutes later.
EVER wonder how superheroes keep their pulse on criminal activity? By reading the Watford Observer, of course.
Superman's alter ego Clark Kent led the way as a reporter for the Daily Planet, and if these red-suited chaps are anything to go by, it's probably safe to assume that Batman, Spiderman and all the other lycra-clad crime fighters out there must pick up their copy of the Watford Observer every Friday.
Judging by this photo, however, the Excellium Superheroes look extremely worried about the emergence of another hero turning up on their patch, after reading how heating engineer Gary Day saved a man'sfrom a fire on last week's front page. Maybe he'll change his name to "Gasman".
And finally, heartfelt congratulations to Langleys scribe Hayley Keyes, who became Mrs Hayley Korn on Sunday. Messrs Skinner, Harrison, Hnizdo and myself were lucky enough to see the blushing bride tie the knot with new hubby David in a lavish central London ceremony on Sunday, and in true Cilla Black style, we wish them both a lorra lorra luck.
