WELL LIKE MOST OF YOU, I’VE WOKEN UP THIS MORNING WITH THE SHOCK NEWS OF MICHAEL JACKSONS DEATH....so before I start the blog I just wanted to pay my respects, just like Elvis death there will be many of us that remember this day. Just as our parents grew up to hits such as Rockin robin and Abc,We the children grew up with hits like thriller, bad, Billie jean, and a whole new generation were about to experience him in his comeback tour, despite personal issues he is a legend without a doubt, very sad day for music fans. R.I.P Michael.
Congratulations to the Courtlands Residents association for the Fun day in the park last week, it did exactly what it said on the can and I think I can safely say a fun day was had by all. Everything had been taken care of, right down to the portaloos that I have to say remained clean and useable throughout the duration, and thank-you to the two women who stood outside and guarded while I went in due to a fear that someone would tip it over for a laugh, there’s always one about....yes it’s usually me, and that’s why I know exactly what goes through a pranksters mind. Back to the fun day in a bit.
Saturday morning I decided to go into town and felt quite positive about being able to make it. So after having breakfast in the market, Mum did M & S (the store.... for food shopping, don’t want you thinking she put on some fetish display in the middle of Watford while I nipped to the bank....or is that S & M? Maybe I have sexual dyslexia? Anyway we then met Maureen in Neros for a cappuccino by which time I’d started to flag, but it felt soooo good to be able to take part in my life and be a proper human being for awhile that I did what alot of us M.E sufferers do...push it. www.afme.org.uk We do this because feeling like a proper human being is so rare that when the moment comes we grab it with both hands, hold on tightly and squeeze every last drop of normality out of it that we can.....and so I stayed for a second cup.
By the time we headed back to the car I’d become ear and eye sensitive, disorientated and unable to swallow, but boy was I happy. Now the Courtlands Fun day was from 12-4 but by the time we got back from the town and unpacked and had some lunch it was already 12.30 and I was basically on my knees at this point, but......determined to show my support I meditated to try and gain a tad of energy and then I strolled off to the park feeling and probably looking like a zombie at 2.00, I knew it was daft but......I was still happy.
It was exciting to be out and it was obvious the Courtlands residents association had gone to a lot of trouble. I have to say it was very impressive, there was something for everyone, rides, stalls, holyrood and orchard school entertained with street dancing, the Watford warblers dressed in the traditional pearly kings and queens costume to sing out the cockney classics, line dancing, Irish dancing, forget Britains got talent we had it all right here on our doorstep. As I met up with my bezzie mate she summed it up by saying “I haven’t hugged and kissed soooo many people in one day and in such a short space of time” the community seemed to be out in full force, and people who we’d been at school with and who’s parents still lived locally had come back for the event and bought their children which was lovely, it was a great atmosphere and hopefully it will now be an annual event that can only get bigger and better.
In theory I should have spent Sunday resting, but then again in theory I should have a top ten hit and be living a life of indulgence somewhere in St Lucia surrounded by chocolate but as we all know theory’s all very well ...........in theory, and anyway it was Fathers day and I spent it at my Brothers in Flamstead and my sister came down from Sheffield, so Dad was over the moon to have the three of us together and my sister-in-law laid on a feast fit for a king...or me more precisely lol! I’m never gonna lose this half a stone am I?
I also managed my voluntary work on Tuesday which was great and I’ve got to say that I’ve had the best five days for over a year and a half ever, it sadly came to an end yesterday and I can feel the repercussions kicking in but what the heck it’s been worth it, I just hope I don’t have to wait another year and a half for the next taste of normality. I know that some of you won’t understand how a stroll in the park, or going into town for a coffee is deemed soooo exciting. But imagine all the things you do over the day starting from getting up and getting dressed, the things you don’t give any thought to usually, what if you suddenly cant do them, any of them, even the basics of getting up and dressed in the morning could take you two hours by which time your sooo exhausted you have to lie down again? Maybe that gives you some idea of how being able to do anything with M.E is a real blessing and something to appreciate and celebrate, however small.
womens radio from the USA who supported me last year have emailed to say they’d be happy to continue the support if I send them some more tracks. www.myspace.com/mamachill. I’m aiming for one positive music thingy a week so I’m working my derriere off (that’s French for bottom/behind to you & me, who said I didn’t learn in school?) to maintain that and get some positive vibes going.
I realised my link for myspace reggae friend Joshua Alo the Hawaiian soldier didn’t work last week so I’ve hopefully got it right this week, check out his new track “keep” it’s brilliant www.myspace.com/joshuaalo Thanx to Jane for the flowers for me and mum, lovely gesture and really appreciated, what with Maureen and Janes generosity it’s got me thinking, I wonder if it would work if I put in some orders? A Camel just because, conservatory to house the nintendo wii, pool table, snooker table......
Talking of Jane she’s gone all Ding dong, or Avon representative as they call it now, so if any of you lovely people are interested in a reliable friendly person that has the brochure to cater for your grooming needs then pop over and say hallo at www.facebook.com/jane2009
Well that’s it for this week, to any new readers, thank-you, I hope you’ve enjoyed it and will continue to follow every Friday, to those with M.E, just remember, you may feel alone but we’re all in this together, stay positive, stay blessed, stay hopeful, have a good weekend, see ya next Friday, back before Elvis :) xxx

KEEPING M.E. IN THE LIMELIGHT IS AN ADDED BONUS TO THE EFFORTS OF THE M.E. ASSOCIATION.
OCCASSIONALLY WE SEE IN WOMENS MAGAZINES AN ARTICLE ABOUT M.E. BUT THEN ITS SOON FORGOTTON BY THESE MAGAZINES. SADLY M.E. SUFFERERS CANT FORGET.
STACY, YOUR APPROACH TO THIS ILLNESS YOU HAVE IS AN INSPIRATION TO MANY, I'M SURE.
M.E. SUFFERERS CAN RELATE TO WHAT YOU WRITE, AS ITS NOT GUESSWORK, ITS FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE.
MAYBE YOUR MUSIC IS YOUR MEDICINE AT THE MOMENT AND IS WHAT IS ENCOURAGING YOU TO HOLD ONTO YOUR DREAM.
YOU HAVE HEART, COMPASSION, COMBINED WITH A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOUR AND YOUR DETERMINATION TO NOT LET THIS ILLNESS DESTROY YOU MAKES YOU INTO A UNIQUE SORT OF PERSON.
HOPEFULLY YOUR STRENGTH OF CHARACTER WILL REACH OUT TO OTHER SUFFERERS AND ENABLE THEM ALSO TO HAVE THE COURAGE TO FACE THE FUTURE WITH HOPE.
YOUR TALENT IN BEING ABLE TO WRITE YOUR OWN SONGS/MUSIC FROM RAP, POP, ROCK, BALLARDS, GOSPEL ETC IS A TALENT NOT TO BE WASTED.
SOMETIME, SOMEWHERE, I'M SURE IT WILL BE RECOGNISED....AND WHO KNOWS!!!!!!!!
SEEMS THE GOODWOOD PARK FUNDAY WENT WELL AND WAS HANDSOMELY SUPPORTED BY MANY. IT GAVE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY A CHANCE TO MEET UP WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND HAD SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE...LETS HOPE IT CAN BE REPEATED NEXT YEAR.
AGAIN STACY A MOST WELCOMING BLOGG...KEEP THEM COMING.
MUCH LOVE. XXXXX
