Race for Life

It was such a lovely day at Cassiobury Park on Sunday. It was the 10th Race for Life and over 5000 women turned up, it was a great event to see and take part in. Over £345,000 has now been raised for Cancer Research from this one event and it will go straight to a laboratory in South mimms where they work steadily on treatments for Cancer.

It was my first Race for Life and actually my first attempt at a 10k race..and..I would definately recommend it to all women- especially those who know of anyone who has passed on or perhaps is suffering themselves. I didnt pass out and I didnt get a hernia, so if I can do it then I think most women can too!

The most surprising thing was how positive and united everyone was to the cause. Rather than it being a mournful occassion it is one of celebration...and certainly one of laughter; with entertainment before the race from the 'Nivea male cheerleaders'- who provided us with many laughs...well done guys...and well done to everyone who took part. See you next year!
