To those of you who are not interested in shopping, Westfield is a fantastic new centre which is a shopper's delight. However, it has had (up until yesterday) a major drawback for me in that it took over an hour to get there. I am a dedicated shopper but even that is pushing boundaries! So imagine my delight when I found out I could end up on the doorstep of Westfield in 28 minutes.
Any excuse for a shopping trip and I'm there - yesterday me and a friend decided to go for a shopping tip. Hadn't been in a while so thought i would brave the long journey. When we were arranging meeting times, places etc, she suggested that we went from Watford Junction - I thought she didn't realise how long this would take us! she then filled me in of how theres a train that goes to shephered bush station that only takes 28 minutes!
If I'm being truthful, I was thinking it was too good to be true and that she may have made a mistake. She further explained that it only comes ones an hour - 52 minutes past / 8 minutes to. So, we arranged to meet at 1.40. We checked the screens and yes, it was correct, a train from Watford Junction to Shepherds Bush, 13.52 on platform 9, stopping at Harrow, Wembley Park and then Shepherds Bush.
The train arrived,we got on, found seats easily and I thought I would time how long it would take - just me being fussy. 28 minutes later we had arrived and I was very impressed.
Just a small thing like thats actually made me quite pleased. Its now a very quick, easy and comfortable journey. Unlike before where I would usually go from Watford Met to Baker Street, take the jubilee line to Bond Street and then the Central Line to Shepherds Bush; which to be honest is a nightmare of a journey and not a very pleasant one. Shoppers paradise is now not such a way away which will no doubt mean I will be at Westfield a lot more!
