Our 4th Birthday Event

Our 4th Birthday Event This is the start of a very exciting few days.........I just love birthdays and on 10th September it will be our 4th Birthday so to celebrate this morning, I helped blow out the candles on our birthday cake. The theme was based on our first Social Enterprise project – the “Green Canteen” and there was even an edible version of me sitting on top of the cake. I just get everywhere don’t I!!

Vibe 107.6. our local community radio station, were also there to help us celebrate and everyone sang Happy Birthday whilst I used all my energy blowing out the candles.

We are also busy putting the finishing touches to our 4th birthday event and AGM which is taking place on Wednesday, 14th September at the Colosseum. We have other Gateways (housing organisations) visiting us from across the country and I am really excited to be meeting them and hope they bring their mascot with them to keep me company. They will be joining us for lunch, having a tour of our offices. I have been practicing my Welsh so that when I play tour guide and take some of them round the building (as it is most beneficial to be fluent in other languages), they will understand me. They will then make their way to the Colosseum for doors opening at 4 pm for a 5 pm start.

This event is open to all our tenants and leaseholders, and I do hope that as many of you as possible will join me there. We also have our partners attending as well. I hope I don’t get stage fright...............all those people and such an important event.

RCT (who are one of the Gateways visiting) are staging a play about loan sharks called “My New Coat”. It has a very poignant storyline and I am really looking forward to watching it and taking on board the important message they will be portraying.

Following the play, we are very honoured to have the very well known designer Wayne Hemingway. Wayne was originally a fashion designer and founder of Red or Dead. He now focuses his energy on Hemingway Design and specialises in affordable housing. I hope to learn a thing or two from Wayne.

This will be followed by our formal AGM.

Then it’s the fun bit when the “Trust Band” will give their debut performance.

I have always wanted to be in a band and I am hoping they will let me join them for a song or two and I have my acoustic guitar ready to take with me all nicely gleaming.
