Brighton and Hove Albion FC, the South Bank Centre, a science faculty at a university- what do they all have in common - Writers In Residence! A couple of weeks ago I attended a Spread The Word event entitled 'Know Your Place' held at the fabulous German Gymnasium in Kings Cross.

I am quite an impulsive person so I sometimes find planning ahead difficult. However the temptation of a £7.50 advance fare each way, Watford to Brighton, on the Southern service proved too much.Unfortunately I was stopped in my tracks when attempting to purchase the advance return ticket for the Sunday.

A little too close for comfort

On my way home Monday night there were delays at Willesden Junction,which resulted in me having to push to get onto a packed train.I was surrounded by men and I was closer to several of them than I would have been to a guy on a third date! Get the picture?
