As I’ve freely admitted before, I’m not the sharpest tool in the box, while most men think they know everything and all women know they know everything…..well all bar one, I prefer to relax in the knowledge that I have little knowledge. There’s nothing to bring a flush of achievement to your cheeks than learning something new…….ok, so there are other things to bring a flush to your cheeks but it’s a family newspaper. So recently theres been a billion things that I understand but….i just don’t get, so excuse me for sharing my rantiness with you…….here we go…………
Herts Mercury radio 96.6 have sold our wonderful radio station to Heart radio with a like it or lump it style attitude to its loyal listeners. Well I don’t like it and I’ll be voting with my feet, or should that be ears? Choosing a radio station is a personal thing like buying a piece of clothing, If it sits well on your bones then it makes you feel good, but there’s nothing worse than having something thrust upon you ( think Christmas present and grannies knitted jumpers)…..sorry Nan.
If I wanted to listen to the likes of Toby Anstis, and Jamie Theakston I would have been tuning into Heart. As it happens I wanted and chose to listen to the likes of Kez, Tank, Ozzie heather, Jay and the rest, so I tuned into Herts mercury 96.6.
Although a few of the presenters are being kept on, mark my words they’re only being used to help with a smooth transition and hold on to the listeners, six months down the line they’ll be moved to a crap radio slot and forced out to make way for new presenters, I’ve seen it happen so many times before.
My comment about this was removed from the wall at Herts Mercury Facebook site…… truth hurt guys? To the actual presenters at Herts, my beef certainly isn’t with you and I’d like to say thanx for all the great music and laughter over the years, I’m really gonna miss ya and I really do wish you all well. Thanx also to all those who’ve urged me to start up Watfords very own pirate radio station; believe you me if I had the time and resources I would do.
Onto good Asda, bad Asda. Good because they’re shaming the government and leading the way by starting to sell private cancer drugs for non-profit. These are the drugs the NHS should provide but that N.I.C.E (national institute for health and clinical excellence) decide aren’t worth funding, after all, they might only give someone an extra six months……is that all? Oh in that case let them croak then……..oh they already do. Ah, but hang on a minute, 15 miles down the road they might decide that your worth being given the chance of an extra six months.
Surely all life is precious and everyone deserves the chance to the possibility of a few extra months at whatever cost? After all, once you’re gone its permanent, it’s not as though you can get lucky and bag funding second time around.
If it was one of my family I would want them to have every possibility going. The panel that make the decisions are accountants an lawyers an financial people, and I’m extremely sickened that money and the right to life seemingly go hand in hand, how do you value a loved one? See, I just don’t get it…………….
Bad Asda because they seem to be getting rid of ordinary sized things and only selling family sized things, mum came home with some kerrigold butter big enough for us to use as a bath tub once the contents have gone, although that’s unlikely to happen in our lifetime. Can I just say you’re not Costcos guys, your meant to be a supermarket catering for all, that’s all as in pensioners and single people as well as families. What are you trying to do exactly because …….i just don’t get it.
Now…..Africa, we have many charities raising money, we have many good people of the world raising awareness and donating large sums of money, we had Live Aid 1 & 2, and we have the likes of Bono bending world leaders’ ears to wipe out the debt. We have people trying to help and educate on HIV and aids, build schools & wells, You can’t open a magazine without seeing an emaciated child with puppy dog eyes under a headline urging readers to give a couple of quid a month……
and then Africa spend 4 billion…..yes you heard right, 4 billion on hosting the world cup. “Doesn’t sit very comfortably under the circumstances does it?” asked a journalist to Desmond Tutu days before the games began. As the Bishop walked off waving his arms he replied the people wanted it because it lifted their spirit.
Lifted their spirit?......yeah it’s called dying, from lack of food and water, poor hygiene and little education courtesy of a corrupt government, bit like ours in many respects While officials live the life of riley and the rest of the world continue to take care of the countrys needs theres no reason for them to change.
So why aren’t our soldiers out there kicking government butt and sorting out a real cause?.....oh yeah, no oil, silly me. And talking of our soldiers that seem to be dying every day now, why in gods name are we supporting Americas war in the first place? Because it was THEIR war NOT ours.
Where were America when the IRA were blowing up our streets and killing our men, women and children? Oh yes that’s right they were funding them so that they could buy the explosives to do it….nice one………..see I just don’t get it.
Onto music, the time you read this I’ll probably be in the recording studio unless you’re like my mother and walk the earth at an unearthly hour like 5.30am in which case I’ll be where all the normal people are with their heads stuck under a duvet.
I’m still strapped for cash on the music front, so I’ve now moved on to my Simpsons collection……gasp, I’m only parting with some of it mind, so I’ve been busy sorting that out…….yes ok so I’ve just admitted to being a huge Simpsons fan and collecting stuff, some girls collect shoes, some collect husbands, I collect Simpsons, deal with it.
Here’s the Gospel manna link and two of my music site links for you to peruse at your leisure www.gospelmanna.com

Once again Noisehead.com made me their featured hip hop artist last weekend and the boss had “Lionhart” at number one on his featured playlist, they have been really supportive of my stuff and I appreciate it hugely.
Health wise I had my eye test this week, still got two you’ll be pleased to hear. I’m still struggling with exhaustion though, able to do things but running out of breath easily which is quite scary because it suddenly gets to a point where even the thought of making it into another room is daunting, a case of minds willing, body aint. I’ve just got to stay positive and know there will be better days…..i think…….hopefully……..soon…….ish. www.afme.org.uk
Last but not least, I was watering the petunias the other day when two men in orange high visibility jackets came along……ah you think I’m gonna say Mullaleys huh?......it was Virgin actually. One of them pointed to a bit of tarmac at the end of our garden and said “you know where you had the installation? We’re just going to dig it up and re tarmac it”……………..huh?
“What, that nice, smooth, neat, small, perfect square that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with” I replied. “Yep that’s the one” he smiled. And blow me down they cut the square back out again and then re tarmacked it. If anyone knows the point or the reason for this, answers on a postcard please because?..........I JUST DON’T GET IT.
Let’s hope the sun keeps shining, have a good weekend, see ya next week, stay blessed, back before Elvis :) xxx

Some interesting rantings in there today Stacy...and I think we all share your rantiness too! How very sad is it that the bottom line to all those rantings is MONEY...every time !!
How values have changed over the years...from human beings to just money...every direction we turn in the way of trying to live and love our lives is limited by money! Including the limitations of what illnesses are thrown at us...no funding...no treatments, as you well know!
I really don't think Asda are the exception (owned by the Americans of course)...sorry Stacy, I am far more cynical than you and believe that Asda's decision to sell the much needed life prolonging drug is "money" orientated too...my cynicism says they will cash-in on
"desperation". I think you have evidenced their real thinking with the "feed the world" sized Kerrigold!!
As for Africa...money too !! Fraud and embezzlement rules..ever seen
photos of Mugabe's residence!! And he gets away with it whilst we feed his starving people...no, I don't get it either!
Our Government can afford "millions" of our money sending our soldiers to their deaths but can't afford drugs to keep us alive...I don't get it...who does ??
Right !!!....oil is more valuable.
On a more positive note, really glad to read you are at the studios this morning and just hope Homer helps with the continuation of your music...yes, with the dreaded word "money".
I think the Virgin episode of re-digging that lovely neat tarmaced hole is called "customer care" they were making sure that those moany groany customers were still down there...the hole that is, LOL. Hope they didn't take your measurements whilst they were there, lol.
Thanks for your enjoyable and captivating blog, yet again, this week.
Wishing you all that you wish for yourself Stacy, stay positive and yourself.
Luv Maureen x

As you've said in the past it's not easy express exactly what you mean in the short format of online posts and your comments here and on the muslim school issue invite misunderstanding as evidenced by the debate you sparked on the proposed school.
The broad point that I think you were trying to make is that in addressing the many problems of, and all the unfairness and inequality in, the world today it's money that talks. That's true. But on the positive side there are many people working to remedy the situation at all levels from the personal to the global.
Incidentally, if you have time you might take a look at the NICE website where you'll discover it's not just a crowd of accountants by any means and there is no post code lottery and they invite the public's input.
Are you still ploughing through the bible? Have a look at Anne Peat's blog on the women bishops row to see how by selecting texts and references with care the bible can be used to support pretty well any argument you care to make.
Chin up.
