It's Almost Easter

Don’t you just love this time of the year, the Spring is my absolute favourite. The days start to get longer and are so much milder. The sun starts to come out of hiding and the bulbs are beginning to come out in full force with brightly coloured daffodils waving their heads saying to everyone, notice me what a spectacle I make.

There are so many different events going on as well that I am always spoilt for choice – one such event is the Easter celebrations that will be taking place at the Maple Leaf Community Cafe on Leavesden Green.

This Easter will see the return of the ever popular Easter Bonnet Making Competition. There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt for residents who attend the Maple Leaf Community Cafe at the Leavesden Green Community Centre.

Celebrations will be held on Thursday 5th April between 3pm and 5pm. The format of the event will be adults and children joining together to make an Easter Bonnet. The bonnets will then be displayed with a parade around the hall for all to see. This is followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for the younger children including a few sweet-toothed adults! On Good Friday, 6th April, the Meriden Residents Association are planning an Easter Café Day. There will be Easter Egg decorating, Egg and Spoon Races and a chocolate egg for everyone. To accommodate the children, the café will close at 11.00 and re-open at 11.30 - 13.00 for the fun to begin!

Even though the shops have been filled with Easter Eggs, typically I have left it to almost the last minute to get mine, but I am going to make sure that they are top of my list this weekend before the last minute rush.
