(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B556 CECIL ROAD, SOUTH MIMMS) ORDER 2021
NOTICE Is given that Hertfordshire County Council Intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B556 Cecil Road, South Mimms from its junction with the B556 St Albans Road roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Warrengate Lane ("the Road"), a distance of approximately 1057m, except for access.
An alternative motorway route will be via St Albans Road, Bignells Comer, the M25, A111 Southgate Road and B556 Mutton Lane or via B556 Mutton Lane, A111 Southgate Road, the M25, Bignells Corner, Swanland Road and St Albans Road An alternative non-motorway route will be via St Albans Road, Bignells Comer, A1081 St Albans Road, Dancers Hill Road, A1000 Bamet Road and B556 Mutton Lane or via B556 Mutton Lane, A1000 Barnet Road, Dancers Hill Road, A1081 St Albans Road, Bignells Comer, Swanland Road and St Albans Road
The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 April 2021 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
