Hertfordshire County Council has promised to fix “one of the worst” potholes in Watford.

The council has confirmed the spot outside Central Primary School in Grosvenor Road will be made safe within 24 hours.

A reader, who wished to remain unnamed, said it had been causing “chaos” and damaging cars since April.

“It completely flattened my cousin’s tyre.

“Most roads here are quite bad, but this is one of the worst I’ve seen around Watford.”

Today (August 5) a spokesperson for Herts County Council said: “We have had one of our teams visit the location this morning, and will arrange for this defect to be made safe within the next 24 hours, pending a permanent repair to be completed within the next seven days, weather permitting.”
