With Halloween and Bonfire Night a distant memory, people are gearing up for Christmas with a host of festive events.

Harrow town centre has a fully-packed programme, starting with the ‘Christmas Tree Switch On’, which will be held on November 25.

Musical entertainment, special guests, festive challenges and a fireworks display are sure to get people in the mood for the run up to the big day.

The event starts at 12pm, with Radio Harrow opening the day’s entertainment at the main stage outside the Royal Oak pub in St Anns Road.

Music, song and dance will build up the atmosphere before the lights on the tree are switched on at 5.30pm.

Face painting, Santa’s grotto and a ‘Polar Bear Trail’ will also be on offer, while special guests including the cast of the Wizard of Oz at Harrow Arts Centre and The Apprentice candidate Sajan Shah will be making an appearance.
