Harrow MPs embraced the snap election called by Prime Minister Theresa May with a cry of “bring it on”.
Mrs May announced the June 8 general election on April 18 and many MPs treated it as an opportunity to bring key issues such as Brexit to the fore.
Harrow West MP Gareth Thomas held onto his seat as he promised to continue to fight for the borough’s “best interests”.
His colleague, Bob Blackman, was victorious in Harrow East and, while he expressed his surprise at the PM’s decision, he was glad to be able to continue to work for his constituents.
Crowds came out to celebrate St George’s Day along Pinner High Street, with many taking part in the famous wheelbarrow race.
And a GP practice had the honour of being the first surgery in London to be rated as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by the CQC.
Elliott Hall Medical Centre, in Uxbridge Road, Pinner was recognised for its “commitment” and “innovation” as well as an emphasis on patient safety.
