A viral video emerged of rats scurrying in and out of a town centre flowerbed and gleefully jumping onto bags of rubbish.

Viewers noted that the clip, which was taken in Greenhill Way, Harrow, served to highlight what they believe is a growing problem in the area.

It was shared thousands of times and was picked up by national news outlets; putting Harrow on the map for all the wrong reasons.

Harrow Council promised to deal with the specific site and outlined its plan to tackle the issue of rats in the borough.
