A respected table tennis coach hopes to encourage more children to take up the sport by offering free taster sessions.

Nicholas Li, who was named ‘Young Coach of the Year’ in 2014 by Table Tennis England and runs an academy at Harrow Leisure Centre, wants to see the game grow among under 18s as people seek to try new things in 2018.

He noted how, as well as developing strong table tennis skills, children will build up attributes in team work, accountability and leadership in a fun and safe environment.

Iain Milton, general manager at Everyone Active, which operates Harrow Leisure Centre, said: “These sessions are perfect for all children no matter whether they’re a complete beginner or have some table tennis experience.

“Nicholas is a fantastic coach and always makes the sessions enjoyable whilst paying close attention to the needs of each player.”

First sessions are free to give participants the chance to try it out and cost £4 per session thereafter, charged on a termly basis.

They run each Wednesday from 6-7pm. For more information visit www.everyoneactive.com or call Nicholas on 07534 690 798.
