A student described as ‘driven’ and ‘curious’ by her tutor has won the title of one of Britain’s best students last week.
Venelina Urlachka, a 20-year-old student who attends Harrow College, was nominated for the British Education Awards due to her success with completing her Access to Higher Education Diploma in Business with a distinction.
Venelina then had a six-month extracurricular employability course with Raw Talent Academy and was one of five students who secured a paid internship with the company upon completion.

Venelina said: “I feel so happy to have won this award. The evening was amazing, and it is such a big honour for me to be a finalist and a winner of this award.
“A huge thank you to Harrow College for all the support and encouragement.” The ceremony took place in Manchester on January 31 with awards presented to winners in five regions across the country.
The British Education Awards celebrates academic and extracurricular achievements of students in the UK. The event is unique and focuses on individual student attainments and extracurricular responsibilities.
BEA organiser, Amin Chowdhury, said: “This year’s British Education Awards finalists have shown an admirable level of focus and dedication to their studies, invariably balancing demanding timetables of external activities alongside their official curriculum to achieve incredible academic results.”
“We hope that, as BEA ambassadors their example will encourage others to make the most of the education and learning opportunities available here in Britain.”
