"We spend so much time outside. It was the big south-facing garden that sold the house to us in the first place, it's perfect for a family with a big enough lawn to play football and we've got a large terrace for entertaining. It's a great house for parties because the sitting room at the front has double doors to the family room at the back which can be opened out to create one big space, with patio doors from the family room onto the garden terrace. With the double doors closed the family room is a cosy spot to watch TV in the evenings.

The house had four bedrooms when we bought it more than 25 years ago. We added another bedroom over the garage, though we're now back to four as we're using one of the smaller bedrooms next to ours as a dressing room, which we love, though it could easily be changed back again. We also extended on one side of the house to create a study with work spaces at either end, originally for our two children to do their homework but it now makes an ideal home office.

It's been a brilliant family home, we have loved it here but our children have moved on and the house is pretty big for just the two of us. We're ready to move to the country now and have our sights set on Dorset. It's time for a new family to enjoy it."
