Free-to-use defibrillators could help save a life, and there are many scattered around Watford, according to data compiled.

Heartsafe is a website which aims to make people aware of where the nearest automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are to them and if they are available 24/7 or only at specific times.

AEDs are a vital piece of emergency equipment when a person suffers a cardiac arrest – as was demonstrated at the weekend when a defibrillator was used to resuscitate Denmark footballer Christian Eriksen after he collapsed on the pitch after suffering a heart attack during his teams Euro 2020 match against Finland.

HeartSafe’s online database shows that the AEDs are mainly available in the Croxley Green and Rickmansworth area, with just one defibrillator found near to Watford Junction station – with the one near the station having limited access between 12pm and 6pm.
