With the sizzling heat set to stick around for the next few days, here are some lidos which should take off the heat a little bit. 

Sunday was officially the hottest day of 2021 so far, reaching 31C, and although it should be cooler at the end of the week, we are still in for some serious heat until Thursday. 

If you need to cool off in some sparkly blue water, then look no further because here are some of Hertfordshire’s top lidos.

Hemel Hempstead Sport Centre’s outdoor pool is 25m x 12m and also offers a children’s paddling pool with fountains for the kids to enjoy. It features parasols and picnic benches and is now open for booking. 

Hitchin Swimming Centre is a 50m outdoor pool with toddler’s pools and a sunbathing terrace. It’s open till September.  

The Priory Lido is in Ware. It is a 30m pool also open till September and has a separate children’s pool so again, ideal for all the family. 

The Pool Club is in Kimpton and is said to be the last remaining family run lido in the country. The 23m lido has changing rooms on each side with a café and play area.  

Letchworth Outdoor Pool is a 50m pool surrounded by a grassed sunbathing area, it has a toddler pool and there is a café in the terrace area.
