Crowds watched dancing and martial arts displays at a fair to celebrate the “rich diversity” of life in Watford.
Food from around the world was on offer at the One Vision community fair at Stanborough Park in Garston on Sunday.
One Vision is a community project that provides practical support such as hot meals and food parcels or mental health signposting services to vulnerable individuals and families in Watford.
With free admission and face painting, games, a bouncy castle and performances, the fair gave 20 different charities and groups the chance to showcase their work, with around 800 people attending.
The fair included stalls with international cuisine and throughout the day there were different cultural activities for everyone to enjoy.
One Vision founder and CEO Enoch Kanagaraj said: “It was truly encouraging to see the connections made on the day with different communities and charities.
“It was amazing to see how everyone interacted and developed new connections. We will continue to promote the message stronger together and deliver our message ‘One Voice, bringing communities together’.”
Groups present included CDA Herts Covid Recovery BAME Project, Rotary, Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust, Lions Club, Hertfordshire Constabulary, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Small Acts of Kindness, Girlguiding, and Goods for Good.
Other guests included HM Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss CBE, Watford MP Dean Russell and the town’s deputy mayor Cllr Aga Dychton, representing Elected Mayor Peter Taylor.
Mr Russell said: “The One Vision Community Fair is a wonderful way for us to have fun and celebrate the rich diversity across our town.
“At the heart of the One Vision ethos has been the charity’s work to bring people together, this event will do this once more and create opportunities for us to come together and share our experiences with fun and laughter.
“From the performances on stage to the vast range of food on offer, attendees will get to experience how our town is more than the sum of our parts.”
Elected Mayor for Watford Peter Taylor said: “I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone at One Vision for their hard work and dedication in pulling this community fair together.
“Events like this are a great opportunity to bring people together and celebrate the community spirit of Watford.”
