A Japanese restaurant has been told that “major improvement was necessary” after a food hygiene inspection.

Hanako, found on The Parade, was given a 1/5 rating after inspectors visited the site on May 17.

While the cleanliness of the facilities was found to ‘good’, the hygienic food handling needed ‘improvement’ while the management of food safety required ‘major improvement’.

The school was inspected on May 25 and was found to be ‘very good’ with a 5/5 rating.

Greenbanks Care Home

The care home was found to be ‘very good’ with a 5/5 rating after the visit on May 25.

All areas inspected – the hygienic food handling, cleanliness of facilities and management of food safety – were considered ‘good’.

Small World Community Nursery

The catering premises at the nursery was given a 5/5 rating and was ranked ‘very good’ after the visit on May 30.

Both the hygienic food handling and management of food safety were considered ‘very good’ and the cleanliness ‘good’.

Garston Bowls Club

On May 30, the bowls club was ranked ‘very good’ with a 5/5 rating.

The hygienic food handling and cleanliness of facilities were ‘very good’ and the management of food safety was ‘good’.

Sweetness

On June 3, Sweetness was ranked ‘very good’ with a 5/5 rating.

The new branch of the burger chain was inspected on June 6 and was ranked ‘very good’ with a 5/5 rating.
