This morning’s confirmation that Oasis are reforming and will play 14 concerts next summer will have rekindled memories for those who were fortunate enough to be in the audience for a much smaller gig the group played in Watford 22 years ago.
Liam and Noel Gallagher and their band played at the Colosseum on Tuesday, February 5, 2002 ahead of performing at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
In a warm-up for the Heathen Chemistry tour, the website setlist.fm says Oasis performed 17 tracks at the Rickmansworth Road venue, including many of their biggest hits.
Opening with Go Let It Out, Columbia and Morning Glory, the show featured performances of Supersonic, Cigarettes & Alcohol and Live Forever and culminated in Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, Don’t Look Back in Anger, ending with a cover of The Beatles’ I Am the Walrus.
The images on this page were captured by a Watford Observer photographer that night.
Were you in the audience? What are your memories of the gig? Did you take any photos you’d lie to share? We’d love to hear from you. Get in touch using the link at the bottom of this page.
