Award winning singer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare Teal will perform a live concert this weekend.

Clare will be accompanied by a trio of piano, drums and double bass at the Radlett Centre on April 1, offering a more intimate gig than those with her Big Band or her Hollywood Orchestra.

After signing to independent label Candid in 2001 and releasing three acclaimed records, it was Clare’s first album for Sony Jazz which became her breakthrough record.

Released in 2004, Don’t Talk topped the Jazz charts and entered the UK Top 20, garnering several awards. By the middle of 2017 she will have recorded and released 15 albums, seven of them on her own label MUD Records.

The jazz infused repertoire she will offer on Saturday night is set to explore timeless classics penned by legendary musical storytellers of the last 100 years as well as Clare’s own original compositions.

The song list features music from Cole Porter, Billy Strayhorn, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Tim Rice to Sting, and honouring the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson and Peggy Lee, and will include a selection of material from her new album Twelve O’ Clock Tales.
